A hydrography upscaling method for scale-invariant parametrization of distributed hydrological models

چکیده
Abstract. Distributed hydrological models rely on hydrography data such as flow direction, river length, slope and width. For large-scale applications, many of these still a few direction datasets, which are often manually derived. We propose the Iterative Hydrography Upscaling (IHU) method to upscale high-resolution typically coarser resolutions distributed models. The IHU aims preserve upstream–downstream relationship structure, including basin boundaries, meanders confluences, in D8 format, is commonly used describe networks Additionally, it derives representative sub-grid length parameters, required for resolution-independent model results. derived multi-resolution MERIT Hydro dataset at 30 arcsec (∼ 1 km), 5 arcmin 10 km) 15 by applying recently published 3 data. Results indicate improved accuracy all studied compared other often-applied upscaling methods. Furthermore, we show that minimizes errors made timing magnitude simulated peak discharge throughout Rhine simulations native resolutions. Distributed lag models for hydrological data.
The distributed lag model (DLM), used most prominently in air pollution studies, finds application wherever the effect of a covariate is delayed and distributed through time. We specify modified formulations of DLMs to provide computationally attractive, flexible varying-coefficient models that are applicable in any setting in which lagged covariates are regressed on a time-dependent response. ...
متن کاملa study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns
attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...

15 صفحه اولWhich spatial discretization for distributed hydrological models? Proposition of a methodology and illustration for medium to large-scale catchments
Distributed hydrological models are valuable tools to derive distributed estimation of water balance components or to study the impact of land-use or climate change on water resources and water quality. In these models, the choice of an appropriate spatial discretization is a crucial issue. It is obviously linked to the available data, their spatial resolution and the dominant hydrological proc...
